Meg Maginn, LCSW, Founder and Director of Eating Disorder Associates and consultant of Eating Disorder Medical Group serves Suffolk, Nassau and Queens Counties including College campuses: SUNY Stonybrook, SUNY Farmingdale, Suffolk Community, Adelphi, C.W. Post, and Hofstra. Eating Disorder Associates is a private practice providing outpatient counseling to individuals, couples, families and groups including Nutritional Counseling and Meal Planning, EMDR, Hypnosis, Holistic Healing, Biofeedback, Family Counseling, Couples Counseling, Group Therapy, Support Groups, Community Outreach, Workshops for the Public and Professionals.

Eating Disorder Associates provides an individualized assessment and treatment plan for all our clients. We coordinate services with our staff of medical doctors (internists and psychiatrists), psychologists, social workers, counselors, and nutritionists. Every aspect of the treatment provided by our team members is devoted to maximizing treatment approaches that restore health and nutrition, resolve underlying psychological conflict and modify behavior. We are pro-active in our approach and provide a warm, nurturing and supportive environment that works sensitively with individuals/families and their recovery.

Treatment Approach

Eating Disorder Associates offers comprehensive outpatient treatment services to individuals and families who suffer from eating disorders. They work from a team approach, utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, DBT, EMDR, Nutritional Coaching / Counseling, Medical and Psychological Evaluation, Testing /Assessment and Psychopharmacology. They address body image distortion, weight loss/gain due to medical conditions, bariatric surgery, metabolism/thyroid/hormonal issues, diabetes, menopause and mental health/addiction issues.

Eating Disorder Associates treats Anorexia and Bulimia; males and females, children, adolescents, and adults. They also work with Athletes and Compulsive Exercisers, Food Addiction, Binge Eating Disorder, Obesity, Pica, Night Eating Syndrome, Compulsive Overeating, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD).
